Our Mission

TotalGPA was founded with a single goal: to provide the most accurate, reliable, and easy-to-use GPA calculators for students in Nepal. Because grading systems across the National Examinations Board (NEB), Tribhuvan University (TU), Kathmandu University (KU), and Pokhara University (PU) differ significantly, students often struggle to calculate their exact standing. We aim to bridge this gap by translating complex academic grading policies into accessible digital tools.

Data Accuracy & Sources

We do not invent or estimate our grading scales. All calculators and conversion algorithms on TotalGPA are built directly from official, publicly available documentation published by the respective academic institutions in Nepal.

  • NEB (SEE & Class 12): Based on the National Examinations Board's Letter Grading Directive (2078) and subsequent revisions.
  • Tribhuvan University (TU): Based on the Faculty Board's official semester grading guidelines and 4.0 letter grade mapping.
  • Kathmandu University (KU) & Pokhara University (PU): Extracted from the universities' official examination division manuals and academic policies.

Annual Review Process

Academic institutions occasionally update their grading frameworks, credit hours, or passing thresholds. To ensure our tools remain accurate:

  1. We conduct an Annual Review of all calculators at the beginning of each Nepali academic year.
  2. We actively monitor notices published by the NEB, TU Examination Control Division, and other university portals.
  3. If a discrepancy is identified or a new grading policy is introduced, our development team updates the underlying logic and documents the changes transparently on the relevant calculator page.

Each calculator page features a "Last verified" timestamp to indicate when the grading logic was last audited against official sources.

Independence and Objectivity

TotalGPA is an independent platform. We are not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Examinations Board (NEB), Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, or the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) in Nepal.

Our content is created objectively to serve the student community. We do not accept payment to alter calculator results, hide grading realities, or manipulate academic data.

While we strive for 100% mathematical accuracy based on published rules, rounding methods and edge cases may be handled differently by your institution's official transcript software. TotalGPA cannot replace an official academic transcript or result sheet.

For official university applications, scholarship submissions, or employment verification, always refer to the physical or digital transcript issued by your school, college, or university examination board.

Corrections and Feedback

We welcome feedback from students, educators, and university administrators. If you believe one of our calculators uses an outdated formula or an incorrect grading scale, please contact us immediately. We pledge to review the submitted evidence (such as a link to an official notice or an anonymized transcript showing the discrepancy) and apply corrections promptly.
