SGPA to CGPA Calculator Nepal 2083 – Weighted Formula
Merge multiple Semester Grade Point Averages (SGPA) into a single Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). This tool weights each semester by its credit load to provide an accurate final graduation score.
How to Convert SGPA to CGPA
- Input your SGPA for each completed semester.
- Enter the total number of credit hours attempted in that semester.
- The calculator multiplies the SGPA by the credits, adds them up, and divides by total credits across all semesters.
Worked Example
Semester 1: 3.5 SGPA (16 credits). Semester 2: 3.1 SGPA (18 credits). Quality Points = (3.5 × 16) + (3.1 × 18) = 56 + 55.8 = 111.8. Total Credits = 34. Final CGPA = 111.8 ÷ 34 = 3.28 CGPA.

SGPA to CGPA Formula
CGPA is not a simple average when credit hours differ. It is a weighted average across semesters.
If all semesters have equal credits, CGPA is close to the arithmetic average of SGPAs.
Higher-credit semesters influence CGPA more than low-credit semesters.
